Hello All,
I just wanted to reach out and address our current situation with the COVID-19 Virus. There’s a lot of info and misinformation running rampant around and that’s causing a panic.. As we are all thinking of best practices for social distancing, please keep in mind that we are a small community and that supporting small business throughout the next few weeks is very important.
As a small biz owner myself, I want to reassure you that we are taking all precautions to keep our clients, staff, and our community healthy and safe. There is nothing more important to me than the safety and well being of myself, my family, customers, and community. For this reason I’ve revisited the standard disease -control processes and implanted these practices considering the recent Corona Virus concerns.
Some things we are doing to ensure a safe clean space for you to escape. (Most practices were already part of our normal practices)
- Sheets are cleaned and sanitized in hot water with bleach to kill and then stored in a closed cabinet
- Between sessions (clients) all tools, table, face cradle and towel Cabi are wiped thoroughly
- Although we’ve always keep our salon area clean, we’ve stepped up our diligence in disinfecting smaller touchable items (door knobs, pens, cell phone, chairs, credit card machines) through out the day and deep clean at the end the day
- On a personal level.. hand washing has always been a priority. When I leave a room, about to go into a treatment, after bathroom breaks (duh), and hand sanitizer multiple time throughout the day.
- After 20 years in the Spa Industry and working up close and personal, I have perfected the “Dracula Sneeze/cough” (coughing into shoulder/elbows) so if by chance I get a tickle be assured that you will not get sprayed
- Being a Licensed Esthetician also means that I’m trained to clean and disinfect using higher standards as I am governed, inspected, and regulated by the State Board of Cosmotology.
What I ask of you
- I ask that when you come in please be considerate of our environment too, cover coughs, wash your hands, use hand sanitizer (located at the checkout counter and/or in the massage room)
- Stay home if you are feeling sick or someone in your house is. Call/text ahead of time to reschedule
I hope this peak behind our curtain gives you some peace of mind when coming to our space. We’re in for some troubled times ahead but are still pushing forward and taking clients. On the plus side, Massage boosts your immune system, decreases stress, and improves you’re overall mood. Who couldn’t use a little bit of time for that?
Final thought- I am in the touch business…it’s what I do.. who I am.. how I connect.. if I am in your proximity I’m going to try my best to keep hugs, handshakes, fist bumps, and back pats to myself.. unless you initiate. If I do however get in your space and you’re uncomfortable please let me know.
Good day! I simply want to give you a big thumbs up for your great info you have right here on this post. I am returning to your blog for more soon. Ainsley Jorgan MacMullin
Hello. I am put at ease by the practices you use in your facility,Covid or no ( coming from a healthcare background,I take OSHA standards& just plain common sense VERY seriously).so thanx for all that- Now- my body suffers daily.from 15 on I have had probably from size 28D breasts to Jr college& 32F chest size at 5’4″ tall, pluss carrying all those books. I have seen accupuncturists, chiropractors&since age 17,due to size(not in ENOUGH agony for you, doc?? Male drs,not sure if that was an issue, but I had a bird-tiny frame as well !! I mean, help already!)or insurance, been turned away by 4 drs for breast reduction( including Dr green up here- I am from silicon-no pun intended- valley, south bay area). I hit 45,shamefully gained 65lbs, freaked out ,have carried weight&am now a 38G.I was told by one Dr my shoulders were uneven&spine slightly misaligned(no surprise just sadness from me). My only relief seems it may come from a deep tissue massage of my neck, shoulders,Upper&a little of my lower back.if you teach women’s wellness too,I’d love to work with a woman or women who may help me not only with a healthy lifestyle diet/exercise/ meditation (or whatever you recommend)plan,to get back to my natural weight since 18 of 120lbs&healthiness(I am a carb-addicted vegetarian!),but also, some people who do what you do can write or fax drs their findings,& perhaps help me onto a path of convincing just one Dr&/or faceless insurance panel that my breasts interfere with my sleep, workouts, walking, make my arms& hands go numb,& although I know it does not matter to insurance co.,really interferes with my psychological well being,&I desperately need a reduction(a 32B I’d be thrilled with!!)I was a tomboy&when these things first exploded on my chest I was so depressed,I wore baggy clothes,no bras fit right, even now they are all so expensive!I’ve begun wearing baggy clothes with the weight gain, again.but the staring & laughing when I got breasts bigger than my head at 22- it messes with you. Anyway,I’d love to chat or message,I read your site& that’s why I poured out so much info,(sorry!)because you seem to cover alot of things I need or am interested in,to say the least. My first question would be the cost for the back area deep massages & if you have any Valentine deals for couples(my boyfriend has back trouble,he works hard&has RLS when sleeping sometimes).& Then,as I said,I’d like to hear if you can help with the rest of my plight-getting back on track, living healthy,a way back to Brandy, even with the breast-the work is more difficult due to breast size, but the size shrinks-minimally-with a return to my healthy weight. Please get in touch if I am a mess you think you could tackle,or at least for the deep tissue back&shoulder job. Thank you for all the info you included,it made it easier for me to come out with my issues/needs. Take care- I hope you’re still open for business!! – b
Thank you so much for reaching out! I’ll reply to you privately
